Connection is a Basic Need
I already reviewed the Art and Science of Connection by Kasley Killam in a recent blog post, but I still wanted to touch on a quote from that book that stuck with me: “Connection requires time and energy, yet time and energy often feel scarce in modern life.”
It is so true. Connection tends to get dropped first when our lives get busy, because we don’t view it as a necessity, when it really is! Connection is a vital source of resilience and healing, and a lack of it harms both our physical and emotional well-being. Babies can die from a mere lack of bonding. Neglecting your social health is depriving yourself of a basic need, so truly, make space for it, anywhere you can, however you can.
“Connection requires time and energy, yet time and energy often feel scarce in modern life.”
