Perfectionism at the Wheel
Brené Brown is known for being at the forefront of thinking around perfectionism, and I love this quote from her, “When perfectionism is driving us, shame is riding shotgun and fear is that annoying backseat driver!” I adore this quote because it personifies the internal battle that I end up helping so many people with. Self-improvement is healthy, but perfectionism is founded on that drive to avoid feeling worthless and our ceaseless striving to not be seen as an imposter. (While my dog in the photo is lovely, the constant pacing in the backseat reminds of those times in my life where I’ve been plagued by perfectionism - enjoy this glimpse at younger me!)
