Not Enough Money Isn’t the Real Barrier

When thinking about what is holding you back from the life you want for yourself, it is easy to name all of the tangible resources you don’t have, like not having enough time, money, or energy. Those are totally valid, but therapy tends to ask us to look beyond those, like what, within our control, stops us from having more time, energy, and energy? Elizabeth Streb says it well: "You have to get beyond the barrier of self-protection before you can really fly." It is usually fears of not doing well at something, making a mistake, or being rejected. So, this is what we address in therapy. We work on helping you trust that you will be okay even if you do make mistakes, because mistakes are part of the process. We help you feel more confident in your abilities and allowing you to still do things even when you aren’t perfect at it. We help you see your inherent worth, whether others recognize it or not.

"You have to get beyond the barrier of self-protection before you can really fly."

~ Elizabeth Streb
