The Right Person Takes Time & Patience to Find

It’s not uncommon for someone in therapy to be there after a bad break-up. In fact, sometimes it is many bad break-ups. It gets to a point where the person wonders if there are any good people left in the world to date. After their stories, I definitely wonder that too sometimes, but I know in my heart that these words from Chris Murray ring true: "Seeking those elusive individuals is like mining for rare gems. It will take hard work, patience, and a persistent attitude. To find that rich seam of colourful stones, you will have to chip through dirt and rock. You will have to learn how to hold rubble in your hands and see the fortune inside." To find a person worthy of you takes a long time to find, because you are worth a lot. That is the trouble sometimes in embarking upon a healing journey - you begin to realize that the people around you do not value you as much as they should. Keep on looking, find something you can take away from those experiences that don’t end up working out, and you will eventually find someone that make makes your heart glow.
