Awaken Your Spirit from Burnout
I see a lot of burned-out people. Almost all of them come into therapy wanting to figure out how to be more productive again. Unfortunately, burnout is the result of pushing yourself past your limits for too long, and it takes time to recover. It is a sign to slow down your life, because if you get out of burnout and push yourself the same way again, you will burnout again. Sometimes burnout is from doing too much, but sometimes it is from doing the wrong things. In a quote from Shakti Gawain: "Every time you don't follow your inner guidance, you feel a loss of energy, loss of power, a sense of spiritual deadness." Burnout is often the death of one’s spirit. Or at least your soul is in need of serious help to heal. You can’t keep ignoring what it is that truly lights you up and fills you with energy. You can’t keep engaging in what drains you, what goes against your values. The road to happiness is found not with your eyes, but with your heart. You must learn to listen to your inner wisdom to know where to step towards next. It’s a skill that needs to be practiced, some people are more naturally gifted in this area than others, but everyone can learn to listen to themselves. Everyone is capable of finding their own inner guiding light to follow.
