Healing the World
If you want to change the world, you need to welcome others. Much of what plagues the world is the result of trauma, whether it is current trauma from a lack of basic needs being met, or from generational trauma that hasn’t been acknowledged and healed. What heals trauma? Feeling connected, heard, understood, and unconditionally loved and supported. As Shauna Niequist put it, "This is how the world changes - little by little, table by table, meal by meal, hour by hour. This is how we chip away at isolation, loneliness, fear. This is how we connect, in big and small ways - we do it around the table.” If you have the emotional capacity to connect with someone, then do so. You help make the world a better place by sharing your care and safety. Fret not, at all of the things you cannot change - if we all actively give space at the table for someone who needs it, we do our part to heal the world.
"This is how the world changes - little by little, table by table, meal by meal, hour by hour. This is how we chip away at isolation, loneliness, fear. This is how we connect, in big and small ways - we do it around the table."
